As far as I know, my wife wasn’t on her ovulating state when she extremely craved for this latest mall craze… 🙂 I guess she just wanted to relive a piece of her childhood memory and share it with Gabby.
It was last week in SM Megamall foodcourt when we saw a long queue toward a new kiosk that I initially thought was selling phone cards, LOL! We soon found out that it offers innovated versions of an old Pinoy favorite street food : SCRAMBLE!
It took 7 days more in another SM Mall (Marikina City) before we sampled BUZBOX SCRAMBLE, which is from the same company that introduced Turk’s Shawarma kiosks also in malls around the Metro.
This new kiosk really revives the Pinoy craving for scramble. Their simple edge above other sweet treats is their cheap price. A small cup costs only PhP 10, medium cup PhP 13 and large cup PhP 17…. PLUS if you want to add toppings to your pink crushed ice craze :
It was Tina who really want to try it; she wanted to compare its version from the taste of usual scramble from street carts.
I’m not fond of it when I was in my growing years and Tina hasn’t had a cup of it in decades. But surely, seeing it in malls brought back memories. This was perhaps, part of this kiosk’s charm.
BUZBOX SCRAMBLE, anyone ?
So my wife’s craving was satisfied; she finally tried Buzbox scramble and our son, Gabby got to try it too, but as for me, it was just OK; nothing to rave about except its affordable price and tremendous success it has been reaping from curious customers.

meron din ganyan sa SM fairview pero I dont know if same ng name pero ganun din haba ng pila. Havent tried it yet maliban dun sa scrable na natikman ko ng bata pa ko. 🙂

Tried Scramble too in SM Bicutan about two weeks ago. Mas mura sya, Php7 lang per order. Ganun pa rin lasa, even the milk powder. It was ok, pero like you I’m not really into it.
i don’t know if i am the only one who finds it weird with milk powder.
my wife told me, “talagang may milk powder iyon!”
gabby added, “parang nido ko.”
di rin ako mahilig sa scramble, but the ones in our pic look delicious!

i heard about this. havent tried it pa pero i was able to tried the original scramble (streetfood) last year hehehe bawal kasi kaming kumain nun. so ng matikman ko cya sarap pala hehehe

hehehe suprisingly yes. wala kasi akong baon na money during elementary and highschool. and nung college wala akong nakikita sa school.
I remember during gradeschool, some people would intentionally call it as “iskrambol”. 🙂

wow ang haba ng pila!! mahilig kami nyan nung bata kami kulay pink na tinitinda pa ni kuya at in fairness hershey chocolate syrup ang pang toppings haha! tapos nung nagpunta kami sa province namin sa pampanga yung mga scramble pala dun eh wala ng food color, white lang pero same lasa pa din. 🙂

i never tried it when i was a kid and until now. the way you introduce looks like it’s worth trying like the fro-ya.

Ohhh I miss that scramble!! I will definitely try that one when I visit Pinas in Sept (can’t wait that na!)…in Hawaii and here in Japan they call it shave ice pero mas gusto ko yun version natin na scramble mas masarap, dito walang lasa, lasang wala LOL as in wala lang hahaha
i know in japan and in little tokyo here in makati city (a compound of authentic jap restos), they called that shave ice RAMUNE. sarap! flavored din;

we have seeing this stall for months now, sa SM malls. They have a stall at SM North Edsa ground floor, akala mo sinehan ang pila! I grew up with this but I was more of a taho and cheeseballs 4 newspapers/bottles girl than scramble. 🙂
@Jeanny I think its from the same company. Are you referring to the one infront of the arcade sa ground floor?
