At present, I can now proudly claim, that I’ve finally set foot and dined in one of Dubai’s pioneers in hotel and Tourism industry!
Built in 1975 (that’s a year older than I am, if you must know!), Radisson Blu Hotel Dubai Deira Creek still stands majestically along the Creek that undeniably stood witness at every turn of the chapters of history of this emirate. Needless to say, the traveler and foodie in me was silently ecstatic when a fellow Filipino UAE-based blogger, Grace of sandierpastures.com referred us to preview the grand Iftar this year at the said hotel. Lady luck was on my side when the date of the invitation falls on my days off at work. The stars aligned in my favor to savour what Radisson Blu in Deira Creek has to offer this holy season of Ramadan.
Although I heard from one of our fellows that Peking Duck will be served, I ignored my subconscious expectations, and simply attended with my discriminating palates and huge appetite.
Our small group of blogger-friends were ushered to Minato, one of premier restaurants in Radisson Blu Deira Creek that serves authentic and classic Japanese cuisine, fused with other Oriental favourites.
One of the private dining rooms in Minato.
Similar to other hotel-restaurants, Minato has eye-catching live-kitchen stations; what makes it different is the quality over quantity that it serves. Case in point : It was only in the Iftar buffet at Radisson Blu Dubai Deira Creek that I’ve sampled Peking Duck, assorted dim sums, sushi and freshly-cooked noodles (available in seafood, beef, chicken), plus amongst the Arabic and Indian dishes on the spread. Oh, and if you think there’s only the usual entree and dessert selections, how about unlimited popcorn and cotton candy for the young and the young at hearts? The variety was amazing!
Peking Duck and dim sum station.
Whether you’re breaking your fast at Iftar, or simply would like to dine over sumptuous eat-all-you-want, Radisson Blu Hotel Dubai Deira Creek’s offering is difficult to resist. Mark my word for it!
First round!
The hallway that leads to Arabic cuisine section.
Their version of the local favourite, Lamb Ouzi is at par with the others that I’ve tasted. The roast beef, blanched and buttered veggies and the cream dory dish are a must on your plate! Go figure!
Of course, sweet endings are not to be missed. I liked their bite-sized samples of everything.
A glimpse of a fraction of dessert section.
That soft-served ice cream on a cone absolutely hit the spot!
Two thumbs up for Iftar offering at Radisson Blu Hotel Dubai Deira Creek!
