Call me the biggest cheese ball on the planet, but it’s one of my favorite movies. Not because of anything but the lines on this film cut through me.

And times like this that I am alone in my room and when Skype isn’t enough to melt my homesickness away, surfing the web for quotes of movies and TV series I like might seem torture but surely is one effective way that helps me kill time.  Get it?!  If not, it’s OK! hehe 😀

So here’s a couple of those lines from this 1996 movie that I like.

“Hey… I don’t have all the answers. In life, to be honest, I have failed as much as I have succeeded. But I love my life. I love my wife. And I wish you my kind of success.” -Dicky Fox.

“I am out here for you. You don’t know what it’s like to be ME out here for YOU.
It is an up-at-dawn, pride-swallowing siege that I will never fully tell you about, ok? ” -Jerry Maguire.

Do you like watching movies? I do. I like it better than TV.

What are your favorite films and why?  *sounds like a trivial question*

C’mmon, amuse me!

Enjoy the rest of the week, everyone!

  1. John and I love movies. We even have a running game on movie trivia.
My top two romantic comedy movies are The Age of Innocence and The Story of Us
I love The Age of Innocence because (1) I love the period of the film it was set, (2) I have a crush on Daniel Day-Lewis, and (3) I am a hopeless romantic.

The Story of Us naman, I like it because its about the truth about marriage. That its not always happy happy. It deals about compromise and how much you’d sacrifice for a partner and for your children.

Runners up will be You’ve Got Mail at Sweet November. 🙂

    1. hey, ingrid thanks for sharing your favorites!
iba talaga type ng babae, mas mushy?! hehe…
but we’re one the same boat on being hopeless romatic!
medyo moody ako e, minsan sweet kay tina, minsan obnoxious *kidding!*

  2. .. love story (ryan o’neal & ali mcgraw and somewhere in time (christopher reeve & jane seymour). i know they are very old, pero at such a young age then, naappreciate ko yung mga movies na yan.

  3. Ako I admit I’m a hopeless romantic! And I cry sa mga movies hahaha! 2 of my fave movies: Sa foreign, Serendipity tapos sa local naman, One More Chance! JLC FTW haha! 😀

Fave line from Serendipity: When love feels like magic, it’s called Destiny. When destiny has a sense of humor, it’s called Serendipity. Awwwwww. Tapos fave song ko sa movie na yan eh “When you know”. Try to listen to that song, Doc. Cheesy!

Sa One More Chance naman: “Sometimes you have to break up in order to grow up. It takes two grown-ups to make a relationship work.” – Si Derek nagsabi nyan! Hotness haha!

ok nga comment mo, di ba “the longer, the better!” 😀

        1. Hi Ingrid! I saw JLC na a LOT of times! Naku maloloka ka pag nalaman mo kung anu anu mga ginawa ko para kay JLC haha. As in define fan talaga kalurky haha! 😀 Pero sige inaacept ko offer mo ahihihi 😉

    1. oh, those are mushy films too! haha. ayoko ng masyadong talkie, i get sleepy. apparently, ladies are more into this type of movies.

lost in translation, if i’m not mistaken was shot in tokyo, right?
      suddenly, i miss that city!

  4. although its not my favorite, gusto ko din yang jerry maquire. it’s very entertaining.

wala naman ako favorite. but there are movies i can watch over and over.

  5. i love movies! though i’m not really a fan of mushy movies. My top 2 are fearless and la vita e bella… pero kung cheesy lines kelangan, gusto ko mga lines sa cruel intentions. hehe.

    Annette: I’m impressed.
    Sebastian: Well, I’m in love.

  6. You’ve Got Mail

“I like to start my notes to you as if we’re already in the middle of a conversation. I pretend that we’re the oldest and dearest friends- as opposed to what we actually are- people who don’t know each other’s names and met in a chat room where we both claimed we’d never been before. What will NY152 say today, I wonder. I turn on my computer, I wait impatiently as it boots up. I go online, and my breath catches in my chest until I hear three little words: You’ve got mail. I hear nothing, not even a sound on the streets of New York, just the beat of my own heart. I have mail. From you.”

  7. sali ako: on the top of my head the cheesy love stories i adore:

Pride and Prejudice (Keira Knightley) – Mr. Darcy towards the end of the movie: If your feelings are still what they were last April, tell me so at once. My affections and wishes have not changed, but one word from you will silence me forever. If, however, your feelings have changed, I will have to tell you: you have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love, I love, I love you. I never wish to be parted from you from this day on. [di ba cheesy?]

Chasing Liberty (Mandy Moore) – this movie is how I imagined my “love life” to be without being the president’s daughter 🙂 [kulang ako sa tulog]

Good Will Hunting (Matt Damon) – the best buddy movie I think. The Ben Affleck character says:

Let me tell you what I do know. Every day I come by your house and I pick you up. And we go out we have a few drinks and a few laughs, and it’s great. You know what the best part of my day is? It’s for about ten seconds from when I pull up to the curb to when I get to your door. Because I think maybe I’ll get up there and I’ll knock on the door and you won’t be there. No goodbye, no see you later, no nothin’. Just left. I don’t know much, but I know that. [naiiyak ako sa parteng ito always]

  8. naku never kong napanuod yang movie. i guess wala akong pinaka fave na move talaga pero on my list na would be pretty woman, yung movie nila sarah and JLC, kate and leopold yung talagang feel good love story hehehe.

pero for this ok na sa bahay ko mapanuod execpt siguro kung mga sci-fi action movies cya.

  9. Me, I don’t really have a favorite but one of the best movies I watched is “Forrest Gump”. It’s a very old movie. I got so curious and watched it because one of my friends used to call me Forrest Gump. Got so interested and never realized that it’s a very nice movie, starred by a still-young Tom Hanks.

Another favorites of mine is the “A Beautiful Mind”, a true-to-life story of a man with a mental disorder(schizophrenia, I think) characterized by Russell Crowe. Another movie I can recommend is “3 Idiots”, a Bollywood film. I like it so much kasi Engineering din kinuha kong course at medyo nakakarelate ako sa movie. haha. Although the movie is almost about engineering, I think it’s more about living life that it is success who will chase you and not you who will chase success. 🙂
